Developer: Ford moving to Kanata, said to be hiring as many as 300

Ford Motor Co. will move into a 40,000-square-foot facility at 800 Palladium Dr. as early as 2020, according to the building’s developer.
The company has been tapping into the national capital’s talent when it comes to self-driving automobiles. Ford has been working hand-in-hand with Blackberry Ltd. subsidiary QNX on software for cars and autonomous driving vehicles since at least 2014. The two companies had an official agreement, detailing their business partnership, in 2016. Ford announced a $500 million investment aimed at hiring 300 new engineers, focused on mobile technologies and wireless technologies in cars, in 2017.
